SMS for accounting firms, from one firm number

Nagaris Shared SMS lets your team text clients from the firm's own number, and every reply lands on the client file where the whole team can see it. Texts cost 9 cents each, with no SMS plans or bundles.

The problem with texting from personal phones

Clients answer texts faster than emails. So staff text them, often from their own mobiles. The reply about the missing bank statement then sits on one person's phone. If that person is on leave, nobody else knows the client answered.

What Shared SMS does

Text clients from your firm's own number, from any client, query or reminder. Every text comes from the firm and replies come back to the firm. Replies land on the client file where the whole team can see them, not on someone's personal phone.

  • One firm number. Every text comes from, and comes back to, the firm.
  • Shared inbox. See every conversation and who is handling it.
  • Filed on the client. Texts sit beside emails, calls and meetings.
  • 9 cents a text. No SMS plans or bundles to manage.

Who it's for

Any firm whose clients reply to texts faster than email, which is most of them. It is especially useful for teams chasing BAS questions, missing documents and signatures, where a quick text and a visible reply save a round of phone tag.

How it connects to the rest of Nagaris

Client queries can go to clients by SMS. They tap a link, answer on their phone and upload photos, and the answers file themselves on the client and the BAS workpaper. Reminders stop the moment the client answers. Calls through Nagaris Phone sit on the same timeline, and the team can discuss a reply in the client's room in Client Rooms.

Price

9 cents a text, sent from your Nagaris number. No SMS plans or bundles.

A note on marketing texts

Texts asking for a client's documents are different from marketing. For commercial messages, the ACMA says you must first have consent from the person who will receive them, the message must accurately identify your name or business name, and every commercial message must contain an unsubscribe option that is honoured within 5 working days (ACMA, Avoid sending spam, read 18 October 2026). If you plan to use SMS for promotions, check those rules first.

General information only, not legal advice. Check the current rules against the source before relying on this.
